Guys,im pissed of a bit TBH

Ive posted about my vibration/shaking before..quick rundown

Notice it more at speeds (m-way) sorta 70mph,3000Rpm mark

Balancing is SURPOSED to be ok as they done all 4 wheels and replaced 2 tyred for my troubles..Ԛ£140 please..

Its doesnt shudder when pulling away..so not driveshaft?

All bushes and stuff HAVE BEEN CHECKED..we had it up on a ramp and checked all the easy stuff without taking anything apart

Ive been advised its not wheel bearings.

There is NO NOICE whatsoever with this vibration..its coming from underneath and not sterring wheel (75% sure)

When it was up on a ramp,we noticed play in the steering rack and it was a bit jumpy over lumpy roads/cats eyes etc etc so i just paid for a recon rack to be fitted Ԛ£230inc VAT/Labour HOPEing this was the cause of the vibration..This is what im pissed about now..

The steering is no different, was expecting it to feel like NEW-ish? smooth?...yea its ok but nothing special, not even sure its better than it was,i think it felt better before!! ..it doesnt seem so responsive now for some reason..might be me but im sure im right

AND i still got that f-ing vibration....so its like ive just forked out Ԛ£230 for nothing..i dont notice any difference in steering,it wasnt that bad,did i even need it done, could it of waitied and i could of spent the money on doing what is the MAIN problem here which is driving me MAD..

I really need someone is the know of E30's who owns an E30 and can compare mine, tell me if the steering is lumpy or feels strange (i got 1yr guarantee) and diagnose my Vibration problem cuz maybe they had it themselves?

PLEASE HELP ME ..im going

Check rear wheels for buckles, and out of shape tyres. Also about the prop shaft there are weights to balance it out, if have somehow come off, that will cause vibration. Check wheels first tho mate, jon

If the wheels are buckled it will show up when they are balanced if the guy is looking for it.
So it may be damaged wheel bearings, or buckled hubs.
Did you have all four wheels balanced ?
If the rears have lost a weight it can make the dash and centre console vibrate at motorway speeds.

Quick silly one, do your alloys have the correct centre spacers in them? Balancing them on a machine is all very well and good but without the centre spacers you will never get them centred on the hub correctly. I have this problem at the moment and it's fine below 75mph, anything above that and it feels like the dash is going to fall off the car..

That would explain the center consol shaking on nemo before the engine went
only slight but it bugged the life out of me

Try swapping the front and back wheels and see if it gets better or worse.

Otherwise, it could be the prop doughnut which is what the problem was on my mates tourer!

Hi, I know exactly what you mean, my dad had the same problem on his volvo, which kicked in at about 80-90mph. He had the wheels balanced 4 times, but it didnt work. He took it to an exbert, who surprisingly said it was the rear brakes, even though he felt it through the steering wheel and when not braking!! After a pair of new rear didcs the problem was gone. (but dont rely on me and spend more money on rear discs automatically!!). It seems strange, because it certainly didnt seem to us to be any chance of being the rear discs!
