technically, that's an inferior pump design and less efficient. in the real world, not sure that it'll make a big difference.

No idea reconditioning the old one when new ones cost 40-60┚¬. If you want to be sure about the new pump, get original from BMW.

Outch, that's quite a lot then.
I just replaced my waterpump. New one from dealer was ~50┚¬ and it looked like the original one and has worked fine so far.

108 quid! That would double the value of the car
I don't think I'll go for the 16 quid one though.
Cheers fellas

I recently had to do my E34 535i's one. Managed to get a genuine new one from E-bay for £21; the stealer wanted £130 and the old one back!
The 5-series forum members claim that the cheap ones from GSF/ECP don't last long.

i would ask to see both! i did ask some questions about them as the internals are different.
i didnt go for the cheapest as i didnt get the option...non in stock
not that i would have actually gone for that one
i have had issues with my cooling system but i am learning how ait can get in teh system and fixing the problems.

I was thinking of lobbing my old one through my stealer's window
Could be worth trying the Zone's parts dept.

Can't see why they're so expensive, there's not much to them!
