that Audi (in your link) is a heavy coupe, and they only stuck the quattro system in to cash-in on the success of the actual Quattro, which is one of these

its the progression of the discussion. im not that clued up on audis, arent all the bigger engines 4wd? and oldsroydsr4 has said the 2.6 was much slower than the bmw.Andyboy wrote:E30 325i versus Focke Wulff FW190.
About as relevant as a comparison to a much newer 4wd Audi.
The 2.6 is not audis finest work, much better is n/a 2.3 20v (170 ish bhp) or s2 220-230 stock. I had a 2.8 quattro, but ripped out the engine and stuck a 320bhp RS2 motor in instead , because the v6 was a bit lazy (slow revving) The 2.3 20v would murder a stock 325.

Not a great comparison as the Audi coupe with that engine is sluggish to say the least, especially in quattro form. Not that great a handling car either. I've only driven a FWD, they have 150 bhp (pretty poor for a 2.6) and it feels like it too, not even that torquey. Pointless having 4wd with this engine.
The only decent coupes IMO were the early 2.2 20v nasp 5 pots, and the S2 as mentioned, they have huge potential for tuning. The 5 cylinder engines are superb, and sound great, the 2.8 v6 isn't bad i guess.
The quattro models had torsen diffs and a potential 50:50 split.
I assure you it won't be easy to drift any coupe quattro other than an s2, probably a fairly heavily modified one at that!
Back to the original question, the e30 sport would own it!
