I'm after a set of light seats ideally Fibreglass or GRP to keep cost down.

What seats are best value for money?

What mounts are best for E30?

Can you use runners on side mounting seats?

Thanks

Bought some cheap seats that need a re-trim off ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=015

I found out the base mounted type are easy to put runners on but i still wanted a better drivers seat so i bought this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :IT&ih=005

Its obviously used but the new price of this seat was approx £350 with mounts from what i found on google!

here a few pictures. I am sure I had posted some before but I can't find any old postings....

here an older version unpainted to show how they attach to the car

with seat NOTE: even there is a hole to fit your eyebolt, I DO NOT recommend to do this. This was a temp fix

This how they look now. I have amended the side hole pattern for finer height adjustment.

I guess it will be end of Feb till I can ship mounts. It's always a problem to get the lot shipped to me from the manufacturer if I can't collect them. It's a lot of weight and I need to order a fair amount of parts to make the trip worth a while. I will start another thread when I am ready to ship[/img]

Just read it properly and realised you didnt make them yourself :(

I usually draw all the stuff up and run around to find somebody willing to make low quantity batches without charging me the earth.

These sidemounts do fit with carpet too, I've got a set fitted to my car, (will upload pics later ) with some 15mm spacers made up to lift the back.
BMW and Opel, both RWD, both german, both good fun

I have some cobra sidemount subframes and it seems like they will fit if I drill out the base holes a little, but those mounts do look good Uwe! How much roughly per pair?

Depending on the shipping costs, I may be able to shave a few £Â£ off. But it won't be much. All depends on how many I am going to order to divide the shipping cost with.
So far I only have a handful of requests and I don't want to hold a large stock. Let's wait and see what the costs are. It is always a tedious process to get this organised. If you order such low volumes you are not very high up on the priority list (which is understandable) and I found if I get to pushy I get ignored anyway winkeye
