Well i'm slowly getting closer to getting hold of this car, took the owner a month to get back to me this time but he called me today and sent me some pics:

As you can see the car is basically a total loss:

Engine apparently needs a 'full rebuild' ............no idea whats wrong with it yet.

Car is just..butchered, no other words for it. When i find more info on state of engine and rest of chassis I will decide whether its worth restoration or not. Such a shame.

Very sad, another rare car molested by a sad sparco c0ck ! :( This is a much more worthy cause than your cab ,if it's real, I.E the engine started life in that car. This is one chrome turd that needs rescuing.

This HAS to be saved, even if the shell is to far gone then another could be sourced.

Its real, confirmed numbers with Hartge plus its still with the original owner, this is the only UK RHD and 'probably' the only RHD H27SP in the world.

I have no idea mate, owner did say 'roll cage not included to me', naturally i was gutted....I have a few other pics that show the car has rear spoiler (dont have front one) and cannot tell if its got the side kit or not, also looks like its had a very bad respray at some point.

This would be a strip the shell down to nothing kinda job I think, same wih the engine, total strip, at least i would be free to put in any kind of interior i wanted! :D

I have aksed for a lot more pics and a time when i can go inspect the car. There is STILL an ongoing dispute between the owner and the garage over this car, the person who has so badly f**** it up is NOT actually the owner but the garage owners son apparently..

Now that is definitely worth saving!!!

Restoring it properly will cost an absolute fortune - what's the car likely to be worth fully restored?

Any info on mileage, history etc? Out of interest, how on earth did you track it down? :P

somebody needs to go and teach that lad not to meddle with things that dont belong to him and also to do a little research before he decides to trash what could be a one off car.

hope you can get hold of it and save its life, would make an interesting restoration if tackled properly

Going on the costs for the H27 cab (and this needs FAR more) then i'd say to do it on the cheap you could get away with 10k, to do it properly youd need to spend the best part of 25-30k, thats using all new parts and original BMW plus Hartge doing their stuff on the engine. I am 'hoping' its already got the suspension, ARB's etc etc although i have a new set of most things i got for the H27 cab. Am really hoping the clocks are still around and not been binned by the total f moron who did this as they cost me a lot to get done for the cab.

Obviously the multi throttle bodies are intact (by the look of them) and thats probably the only part you simply wouldnt be able to find.

restored I have no idea what it would be worth, the unique factor would add some £'s for sure but you dont restore cars like this to make money (or at least i dont).

I'll get back to you on the mileage but I beleive its a 1 owner vehicle (..not exactly careful..)

When i was researching the cab i came across the Sp of course and i also saw iain mention he thought there was one in the UK so i put my detective hat on and ..TADA! I'm good at finding things :D

Provenance is not in queston here, owner is the guy who originally had it converted with Birds and number plates check out with the records they have. As you can see the mutli throttle body assembly is still on the engine. According to Kevin the owner wasnt someone who looked after his cars so i guess i shouldnt be too suprised at how it ended up, though if i had a dispute over work with a garage i'd find a way to settle it, i wouldnt leave it there to be butchered

You're not kidding! In a former life I was an insurance investigator, so I'd be fascinated to learn how you found the car - Reg from Birds, then a DVLA search?

Anyway, this car just has to be saved! Are you going to transfer your attentions from the convertible, or are there to be two mega-rare Hartge's in the Bloom_meister household?!

Much respect for taking on a project of this magnitude! :P

Simon - Have to be careful as i have said before, the thing is if the car was in good condition it would be worth strong money, easily nice E30 m3 money i'd have thought. But as it stands its a semi knackered rolling shell with a 'possibly' repairable engine in it, i dont value it much over 1500 quid to be honest, and thats purely for the engine parts and throttle body plus the matching shell/engine thing. If this guy is a clown (judge for yourself) and i start coming on strong he's going to do some research or simply start to take the pi55 with the price.

Scouser - i didnt get any reg numbers but i did get a surname and a rough geographical area :D I already knew the car model of course, and its colour, i never said it was easy!

the H27 cab is going ahead as planned, this doesnt change that one bit, i see this as a winter 2008 project for me, BMW and Hartge subject to funds of course, my other half is very understanding..to a point. that point being anything that stops her going on fancy holidays or getting her own new car this year. I will buy it, just a case of when it gets restored.

what a penis to own a car like that and let it get in that state. can't you do a deal with the garage and get the relevant parts he deserves cutting out altogether.

you won't need to strip much to get it to a bare shell, which is the only way you can go with this chariot. Theres only one way and thats properly. A half arse bodge will harm it's value when finished and lose you more money than it's worth

they are very rare and it has a hartge conversion which entails suspension, engine, exterior styling mods and also interior differences compared to a standard e30. this one in particular is a very rare if not the only right hand drive model

i think, though i'd have to check, that the SP was rated at either 215 or 220 bhp
