Got my first BMW this weekend, really enjoying it so far. Car is a 325i SE and is in, what I think, really good condition. Did look at 2 sports but they were no where near as good condition, more expensive and didn't sound as nice. However out of all three I drove this one pulled better but they all seemed slower than I thought a 325i would be. Is there any difference between the sport engine and the engine I have in the SE? I did really want a sport.

Couple of nigglys thou, front bumper bows out about 2cm drivers side although sits flush passenger side, bulb for the trip computer (one near stereo) has gone so has the fan speed indicator one. Needs rear speaks fitting and speaker cable from the head unit run to them (have cable and speakers), have a washer and a strange grommet type thing for the oil filter housing (may need to take advice on this) and there is one small patch of rust on the passenger door, below the black side trim. Have rust treated (hemorite stuff) primer and two cans of spray paint (halfords, does this match ok) to tackle this thou. Got this and the original alloys all with new tyres thrown in with the car!!

Rest of the car is fine, interior is in better nick than my "old" 52 plate Xsara and the engine sounds beautiful...there really is no need for after market exhaust with these engines is there???

The head light washers are cool too, I was baffled for a bit what the moving shadows were everytime I washed the windscreen driving it home last night!!!

Will upload better pics when I get time and a good day but heres the piston heads ad.

What do you think

that looks a nice thing you did the right thing buying on condition not spec i would much rather have this than your average sport as for the engine that is the same for all 325's your car is probably faster than the average sport due to being lighter (no pointless kit and other heavy spec) and being in better shape.

OBC bulb is around £20,there are documented fixes involving LED's.You will need to remove your radio and it's carrier,on the R/H side of the OBC unit you will see a white slide, that's the bulb holder! You either remove the OBC (4 tiny screws) or take a dremel to the plastic web that stops the slidey thingie sliding out....whilst the radio is out,you should be able to reach the bulb for the fan switch,it's either at 7 o'clock or 5 o'clock, cannot remember which, but it is a 2.5 Watt capless.Enjoy your car and welcome to the zone.

A gatwick man. As I am.

Wednesday night get your bum over to this and meet the clan. Happens every 2nd wednesday. Wrap up warm though. Be good to meet a new owner and we can cast our critical eyes over your new ride and give you some ideas.

Looks like a good buy. Having working head lamp wash wipe is a rare thing! What are the original wheels? 15" BBS or 14" BBS or 14" bottle tops?

14" Bottle tops Barry. Well I had the pleasure of driving this today and it was brought round for me to cast an eye over. And a pleasure it was. It is every bit as nice as in the pics and drives spot on. It looks like the spare has never been on. Theres a couple of jobs to be going on with but I reckon it's a goodun!

My Opinion? Put sport black leather in it, set of 15" X Spokes (or 16" Alpinas), M Tec 2 steering wheel and gear knob and I'd leave it there.

A good purchase my man.

Cheers Trev, have nearly got the oil filter housing off, just trying to get on off the pipes of that lead to the oil cooler. My spanner set only goes up to 19mm and the bugger is like 1-2mil to big! Will let you know how i get on. Thanks for the kind words and your time today!
