If it's the soundproofing, then cold weather's better since it's rock hard and chips off. Hammer with a flat bladed chisel should work with maybe something like meths to clean up afterwards.
BMW and Opel, both RWD, both german, both good fun

i have tryed hammering when cold but there is an easier way , get a heat gun and a wallpaper scraper and you can simply pull it off! it does weigh quite alot , auto glym tar and glue remover is ideal for the clean up op!!

Put it all into a bag and when you've finished you will realise why it was worth removing it

I did it on my touring the other day, it is alot of work but worth it.
I didn't use a heat gun jst a chisel and hammer as stated above.
Then removed the residue with petrol and green washing up scraper thing.
