Hi all,

I've just joined and thought I'd quickly introduce myself rather than spending weeks lurking in the background.

I bought my 320i Touring a couple of months back (my first BMW) and have been too busy so far to do anything other than use it and abuse it courtesy of a house move and the daily commute to work.

I'm off work now for a while so have a bit of spare time to do a few jobs done not that it needs too much luckily. It's got a few minor niggles (mainly electrical) which I'll post threads on if I can't resolve them.

I've wanted an E30 Touring since they first hit the streets and I finally bit the bullet after my trusty Mazda 626 finally died a death. I have to say that so far I am nothing other than impressed with it.

It's a 1989 model in Lach's Silver, manual with 76,000 miles and I'm the third owner. I'll post some photos when I finally get a chance to wash the thing if the rain holds off.

Most of my spare time and cash (which ain't much :( ) gets spent on my old Opel Monza but I would like to keep my Touring in good order and maybe even make some improvements in due course. At the moment it's 100% stock, has been garaged all of its life and thankfully hasn't a spot of rust anywhere to be seen.

I haven't decided on a 'look' for the car yet but it's not going to stay entirely standard that's for sure.

Anyway, just wanted to say Hello to you good people and I look forward to my time here. :D

Hello there and welcome  Great choice of car, Lachs is one of the best colours IMO. I believe there are a good few zoners down your neck of the woods, so you shouldn't be too stuck for help. Be warned though, once the BM bug bites, you'll be hooked for life. :D

That's good news, I'm hoping that other Zoners in my area will point me in the right direction for good places for parts and servicing.

I love 'em but they're getting so rare now as rust eats them alive. :(

Hi John,

Up until 18 months ago I lived in Amesbury and worked in Andover and Upavon. :D

I'll try mate. Though I have to say I'd love the extra go of a 325i. After my Monza, the 320 is a little down on horses. :o:

Me too! And not just E30s. Any 3 or 5 Series Touring does it for me. 8)

Thanks. :D

Yes, it's entirely original as far as I can see. I have now put a Kenwood CD/Tuner in it as I had no cassettes at all to put in the original cassette/tuner that came with the car.

Every possible bit of metalwork that can be covered in Waxoyl has been. This makes the engine bay look very dirty BUT rub off the wax and it's in superb nick underneath. It ain't pretty but it's certainly done the job of protecting it nicely.

Welcome :D
I'm in Sherborne near Yeovil.

I don't suppose you can recommend a decent BMW-friendly garage in my area can you? I only moved here recently and haven't been able to find anyone who can take on the Touring or my Monza.

I try to do as much as I can but these days I find myself struggling for time and I no longer have a garage to work in. :(

I probably know him or at least know of him. There's so few Monzas left on the road that we've become quite a tight-knit little community. :D

What colour was it?
