Hi Folks,
I`m seriously thinking of buying my neighbours old 1990 316lux. It's stood for about two months and is out of MoT, although it will be sold with one when I buy it. The car is in very good condition ( he has owned it for the last 8 years ) and has covered 124.000 miles.
We`ve not agreed a price, and neither of us has a definite price in mind yet.
So...... how much should I budget for? What's the average price for these vehicles? And are there any problems with these cars I should look out for?
All comments welcome!

Cheers

Sorry, folks - really should have been a little more specific!
2-door, with 14"alloys - manual transmission. And it's grey in colour.
I'll take a snap tomorrow and see if I can post it on here.
I'm running a 1992 V8 Range-Rover at the moment - but the fuel bills and insurance are beginning to bite - hence the downsizing :)

I found the site through Google - but It took alot of finding!

One picture.....

I'd say Ԛ£600 would be about the figure I was prepared to offer for it. I shouldn't think it's worth anymore.
But, I know someone with a M3 kit and a set of 17"s............ But it's just as nice standard :)

Okay okay... we get the picture!

M3 kit and 17's on a 316 is a bit pointless. It'll be worth more when you sell it if it's standard. You'd be better off colour coding mirrors and bumpers maybe, instead of fitting fibreglass kits to it. My opinion anyway.

Giles.

Sorry, been having a few issues posting a picture! Thanks to Bootyman for helping me out :)
You may be right about the kit though - apart from anything else it's gonna attract - how shall I put it? - undue attention.........

Sorry fella... just got around to looking at your picture! Already colour coded!

I think it looks sweet as it is, and it looks like it's Sterling Silver - could be wrong though. Looks nice.

A bit off topic, but what's different about the 'lux' models?

From memory you get over the standard models:

Sports steering wheel
Bigger petrol tank (62 instead of 55 litres)
Front fogs
Rear head rests
Rear spoiler (little lip one)
14" alloy wheels (Bottletops on the earlier Lux's and BBS x-spokes on the later ones I think)
Shadowline (de-chrome) window trim

I think that's it :)
