just a quicky, are the torx bolts that hold the bumpers on prone to snapping, or are they generaly ok? i'll be removing them soon to fit fibreglass valances ive got and they look a bit rusty

hi mate ,i took my rear bumper of 2 weeks ago bolts were really tight , took a big extension bar to shift them, but didnt snap,! you need arms like garth to shift them if they aint never been removed before. kept thinking the torx was gonna slip !!

Came clean undone on my breaker. They looked quite rusty too, but I suppose it depends how lucky you are.

i`ve had some totally seized up on the 325i i broke it had m-tech kit on so i was determined to get off the bumper, out came the grinder here is some pics.....

If you just cover them in loads of wd 40 and let it 'soak in' they come off twice as easily.

The U shaped piece of metal holding the square nut in place has been known to break away where its welded to the vertical tube. Should still come apart, but needs to be welded back on to reassemble.
Use plenty of coppergrease when refitting. Also clean out the thread of the front towing eye, and stuff that full of coppergrease as well. It may pay dividends one dark rainy night.
