if you go from sydney to melbourne drive the longer route down the sapphire coast south off wollengong as its bloody gorgeous you go through little coastal towns and some lovely scenery because all the rivers from the snowy mountains runs to the sea there, malacootas a really nice spot. the other route through canberras along the hulme highway is boring as fuck, the only good bit being the place where ned kelly derailed a train
I wasnt that mad on melbourne, i was there for the gp myself, its a big city with lots of nightlife but its pretty bland looking comapred to sydney, st kilda sea front is a good area for getting pissed
my favourite places in oz were in northern nsw (like byron bay) and queensland by far the cairns area is nice, barrier reef, waterfalls, jungle etc, i'm trying to sort a visa as i fancy emigrating to brisbane soon
