In the last week i've gone from a 38cm M-tech 1 to a 38cm M-tech 2, via a 36cm M-tech 2. The 36cm wheel just feels soooo much nicer and chunkier, i was gutted when i realised my new one was the larger size! It is IMMACULATE but i think i'm going to have to get another smaller one. Once tried, never forgotten!

I agree entirely!
The M-Tech II wheel on my old 5 series was not as nice as my M-Tech II wheels on my Touring/Sport.
The smaller chunkier wheel is sooo nice.

I have the larger MTech II (E34) wheel on mine. I tried a Sport with the smaller one and it felt like driving a different car ( it was of course but you know what I mean!). I have been hunting for mint/v good one ever since. I've even thought about ordering a new but have since thought better of it.
Anyone want to unload one?

new ones are Ԛ£180 if you speak to the right ppl
less that 150% the price of an 8/10 wheel
worth it imo

This is a rare case of smaller being better!
EDIT: Waiting for someone to say the girth makes up for it?

That's true.
You have to be very skilled to make the smaller one better than the bigger one. i.e. Drifting.

How can you tell which is which. I have A genuine 325is and the wheel is not the same as the one pictured in the first thread. I had a 318is and that was the same. The wheel shown is the one I wont but what size is it and what is it called?

I had both the M-tech II small diameter wheel and the Alpina wheel on my car and theyre both very chunky, i prefered the thumb grips on the M-tech II tho.
The only time i didnt like the M-tech II was when it nearly broke my thumb when i went drifting, i let go of the wheel so it would autocenter and caught my thumb in the grip! I think i did extremely well to get the car back through the sudden burst of pain if i may say so myself !

Wil... at least you won't have that problem with your current car...
Andrew... your smaller one is better while being used on the 'ring'. You got proof of that? Or is it what some of your 'friends' have said...?

Tiff Needell took a Puma out on 5th Gear when they first came out. He, and the rest of the presenters that were in the car at the time, were pretty impressed by the handling characteristcs of the little thing. Lift-off oversteer was one of the highlights of the track session...
No nasty thumb grips to get your fingers stuck in though, which is good.
