yeah mate it was nice and tight, evan gave it the obligatory couple of turns on the bottom pully (before turning the key) and checked it again, all seemed well, it fired and went so i thought that was that, (as you do) but obviously something is a miss

hiya chris mate,
no im not haveing much luck latley am i. (dodgey control arm, then i go and slip a disk in my back, now the timing belt goes, i reeeeeeeeeely feel like sacking the car all together, and buying something else  )

anyway i wasn't going too rash when it happend, i set off from the trafic lights put my foot down a bit then pooooof, no power, oil presure light came on, so i jabed the clutch down straight away on with the hazards, and knocked the engine off, poped the bonnet and seen the belt looking at me, and i did actually shout FCUK at the top of my voice, im going to become a recluse (typo) at this rate i tell you.

how much longer untill the 2.5 is ready for a transplant? can't you just wait till then instead of repairing the 2.0. get sometime of from work on the sick with you r back so you don't have to worry about getting there niether.

this could become all part of the masterplan

cheers mate,
yeah my dad is going away for a while tomorow so he's leaving me his V6 izuzu trooper till he comes back, i know not exactly a cheap run around but it's free, so that should come in handy for me to pick the head up from being ported and skimed, but the car is supposed to be getting painted in 9 days time aswell

Image and thats just the start of it !!

i realy am thinking of just breaking it, i cant be arsed with the hassle of striping down this engine, building it back up with shiney new parts only for me to take it back out to put the 2.5lump in, now i have NO transport as my dad ended up not going away ( job posponed) so im now just sick of it all :(

:x :x fcuking unnecessary failures really pi$$ me off, i very very nearly kicked the panels of mine in when the oil pump failed, i really did think about breaking it up for parts

sounds like you need a sh**ty pug 205 to run round in, cost a few quid but save you on fuel - and aggro when the bm breaks

is the water pump driven by the cambelt, has it seized? or was something rubbing on the belt? i know it doesn't really matter but it's very odd to have a new belt break like that.

won't have been too loose as has been suggested, really loose belts can jump but it's too tight that breaks them

Can't you take the metro till you have the 2.5 ready, and hurry up on the 2.5? You really considering breaking it?

i know exactly how you felt mate, i was exactly the same today but i had a hammer in my hand  but i decided just to walk away,

widge, METRO????????? ME, PUBLIC, TRANSPORT? youravin a laugh, i cant remember the last time i used that (honnest)
and i cant realy hurry up the 2.5 as it's getting ported, skimmed, which takes time and im still waiting for a piston or 2, the cam turning up, and now im only getting sickness benefit which is a totaly disgusting rate, so cash flow is slim

i dunno :? i think im going to do a poll, {break her, or stick the rocky theme tune on and fix the beeeyach???

Fix her. I'm sure some one who has got a spare 2.0 or 2.5 on here would be willing to let you have it mates rates, they can always have it back when you put the 2.5 nitro in.

Craig....... Sorry to hear about your problems. Hope you get it sorted soon.
I know what you mean about the Metro, if we had a decent road system 'round here, the bloody Metro could be scrapped.
Cheers
Stuart.

No worries mate. Just hold on to the con rods for me, I'm kinda swinging away from the 2.8 idea.
