so got a droaning from ns rear sounds like bearings to me so i went and bought rear bearings now how hard are they to fit could i try myself or do i leave it to the pro,s
ps a good step by step prosses would be great

bit of an absolute helmet to do really, i would pay a specialist.
Had mine done on my old 318is and i supplied the bearing done for 70 notes so it's under 2 hours for him to do it and alot longer for u!!!

Fronts are okay... but the rears are pigs. Trailing arm off job. Not nice.
Give it to someone else to do. It's the only thing I didn't do myself on my Track car.

Did mine a couple of weeks ago, but i work at a bm dealership with all the special tools, and i would say you would almost certainly end up breaking something or struggling like hell for days without them!
You need to remove the wheel, the brake disc or drum, the driveshaft lock nut, the driveshaft from the diff, the lower damper bolt (to get the driveshaft out of the way) then pull out the drive flange (took me about fifteen blows with a huge slide hammer) then you have to pull and push the bearing out and in (tonnes of pressure).
Very doable, but as with most things, only with the right tools
