Nothing against the E30 but mainly because I'm too tall and the top of my head is indented in the sunroof! Crap "un-comfort" seats too! It will stay as a weekend toy.DanThe wrote:Why not? lol you sound like me (with the very very very mild cams!). must admit my mild cams are a bit of a disappointment - I mean I'm chuffed it still pulls like a train (I've gained throughout the rev range, tested on the rollers) and idles like factory, but hasn't exactly done as much as i'd like for the performance. A stronger inlet cam will go in mine if i hang on to it, would like to get 200bhp on the standard inlet manifold etc with perfect daily driving behaviour. It will still then have cams less wild than some factory s14s, and with smaller valve size/squarer engine so it should still pull nicely. What does the 30mm refer to when you say port to 30mm? you got a 2.5l block now? Any thrreads anywhere about your engine? Would like to see what you've been upto!Demlotcrew wrote:No i just like to improve on the 'H23' got a cylinder head to do over the xmas breaksDanThe wrote:You must like that polo turd Andrew![]()
full port to 30mm, flow benched and matched, Race valves, springs, MS top hats, and some very very very mild cams (for testing only)

Me as well!! The E30 seats (both types - I drive E30s with both) are the most comfortable car seats I've ever ridden in. I've done six hour non stop driving stints (another advantage of LPG) and got out of the car as fresh as I got in.DanThe wrote:Why not? Are you serious?!Demlotcrew wrote:Tim ive got three engines on the go right now;
A MS 2.5 ~ 330bhp
A MS 2.0l long rod ~ 260-290bhp
A Stock short block but uprated Top end 2.3 for road use (shim under, lighter valves, top hats etc) ~ 240bhp
No threads mate, dont see anyone being interested in this on the Zone.

No, im saving the kit I have for an E34 525i touring, my E30 is overweight enough as it is and I think a gas tank behind the back wheels would just kill the fun factor.tim_s wrote: DanThe, that's some serious mileage :O You on LPG yet?
Whilst an E30 is a great car and has numerous plus points its refinement is nowhere near an E34 nevermind a 5 Series two generations later. Even an E36 is in a different ball park in terms of comfort. The appeal of the E30 (for me anyway) is in its rawness and the way it connects with the driver. Comfort seat are crap though, period!Brianmoooore wrote:Me as well!! The E30 seats (both types - I drive E30s with both) are the most comfortable car seats I've ever ridden in. The only other BMW I get to ride in or drive regularly is an '06 535D, and I wouldn't swap that for an E30. I don't find it any more comfortable, and it's utterly soul less.

I manage better than that !! LPG!TRANSPORTER wrote:WOOOOOWWWWWW 130 miles on a tenners worth of fuel, how do you manage that
