I've not got the original airbox, but I do have an ITG cone filter... Due to the side of the engine it breaths from (nice and hot!), I'll probably put a proper box in sometime, but for now where would I get a suitable pipe(?) to mate the filter with the AFM? I'm sure plenty of people on there have fitted aftermarket induction setups, so how did you sort it out??

Cheers! :)

ssttaannddaarrdd........!
you'll spend less on a standard with hose from a breakers with a new filter than you'll pick up some hose for. unless you get lucky with some drainpipe or something!

Hmmm. Does the e32 one fit? The only decent scrappy near me is full of 'insurance storage' but ripoffmerchantsrus have got a 735i in... I would have just got it while I was there but it was missing the pipe anyway...

mine is from a 735i and fits perfectly! frop it in and it just wedges in there a treat. if you trim a bit off the headlight backing plate trim thingy, you just poke the inlet pipe through and you have a cold air feed. job done!

yeah go standard if you can. being just above the exhaust is bad and teh standard box has a heat sheild.

to get a tube you need one with a bend but thats not the best. i know a cone filter sounds good but i dont think it will do anything for the heat into the block.

Have you got the pipe from it to the AFM too? Would be grand if you could! :)

Still no sign of the mani though :( But that's not your fault!

Jaffro - can do, but tbh I know what they look like & I do believe ya! :)
Jules - may pop in & see you if I'm nearby soon!
Gareth - might give em a go in the morning... ta :thumb:

TBH I just want to get it up & running, & then refine things later... Martin (Driftboy) had a cone filter on using the standard intake pipe, so if I could find one of those it would do for now, & save me having to faff around moving washer bottles etc.
