Window trim chrome is oxidized

I was planning to replace the window trim on my e30 to shadowline but thought I might aswell try and get the chrome back to original first to see if it looks cool.

The chrome has gone oxidized and is sort of white if you get me, I have tried autosol and polished for ages and nothing.

Is there any way to treat this oxidization?

I thought if there werent maybe sanding it down then re polishing maybe.

If it's anything like the inside of the smiley head-lights, then it's chrome coating, so sanding will remove it (chrome coating). Also the white dots are probably chips in the chrome coating.

If they are, then it would seem like they'd need re-caoting

what do you mean recoating, u mean re coat with chrome?

You wont get it back mate, its not real chrome its plastic coated crap. Get some wide electrical insulation tape and DIY shadowline it
