I was going to sort it but there is one on the other side too and a few on the inside so I though i would change it,rather than sort it only for it to come back through. I was at wilinghams in hull getting a foglight switch the other day and they had a red touring in with a rust free bonnet which reminded me! they have a white 2 door in too but its sh1t!

looks good schuey, you seem to have been quite busy too. I've bought a 60/40 H&R cup kit for mines, like you i too have come from the dub scene and i want a slammed look on my 15" BBSs.
By the way, the motorsport centres are Negaro Silver.

Trackday was great cheers! Spent most of it sideways but she runs like a dream. Springs are cool,has transformed the look and the handling is better as a bonus as my dampers are fairly new too. Need to get the steering sorted,standard rack at a wet cadwell is dodgy!(even with my skills!)Dan318-is wrote:How was the trackday mark?
Springs OK?

Well,I do wheels every day of the week! Mainly for main dealers though. If you wanted a machined lip I there is a chap in skirlaugh who does them,or I think he does! I paint them although I do the polished Golf gti wheels in a way that looks almost factory without using a lathe.

Well...I refurbed my wheels over the weekend,pain in the arse with the weather as it is! Got the kerb marks out and then did them motorsport style with nogaro silver centres. I am well happy with how they look on the car.
Rubbish pics but it was raining and the car is filthy but you get the idea!

If your wheels are not in too bad shape you should be able to do it to a reasonable standard,I paint for a living (outside as I am smart repairer!)which makes things easier but the paint finsh required to make wheels look good is nowhere near that of panels. As a guide we charge between £30-£50 per wheel at most places.
If you fancy a go,this is how I did mine.........
Remove tyres(I masked mine up)
Clean them thoroughly,then key the surface with some grey scotchbrite.
You can then attend to any damage either by hand on the tricky bits,I used my DA sander on the rims to remove the kerbing marks.
Prime the wheel.(hi-build primer is good here
)
I then painted the rims silver and the centre nuts while the paint was on the go(I had dismantled the centres) and left it overnight(as it started raining!) I then masked that off on the step before the spokes start,I figured it would be easier this way.
Then paint the centres,once dry remove the masking from the rim and lacquer the whole wheel/centres/nuts.
If you dont have a compressor and guns etc,you should still be able to get a decent finish with cans if they are decent quality. U-pol do a good aerosol lacquer,the merc bodyshop I used to work for did all the wheels with it!
From a few feet away,i.e looking at the car they will look the part if you take your time,probably cost you £30 in paint and sh1t but thats cheaper than paying someone else nearly £200! Enjoy
