E30 25 year old celebrations
Moderator: martauto
As far as the UK is concerened the E30 will be 25 in 2008
I know they were 25 in Europe this year but some celebrations are planned to mark this milestone
The BMW Car Club is making the 25 years with a big E30 display at Gayon and later in Stoneliegh
As there was nothing planned earlier in the year I have arrange to have an E30 meet at a race circuit, likely to be Brands Hatch in June so we get all the good cars there. All models are welcome, Ms, Convertibles, Hartge, Alpina, 325,324,323,320,318,316 etc
Let me know if interested by posting on the thread and I will post more details once dates are finalised with the circuit etc
Do have other plans but need confirmation we can do them before posting cheers guys...lets get those E30s out and on display for all to see
So Far:
June - E30 weekend Meet with Kuhmo race series Provisionally 7th and 8th june
July - TBC
August - Gaydon 10th August
September - Trackday Donnington
October - Stoneliegh

This is the weekend of the Monsport memorial meet.
If it's not that weekend, I'll be there.

For Brands all E30s are welcome whatever the spec...will be offering invite to Dips so no problem with modified
For Gaydon and Stoneliegh first dibs goes to CarClub members as it is an official CarClub event
For the Trackday anyone who wants to pay to go on track can go on track, anyone not wishing to go on track can come and watch etc
Elf: waiting for MSA to confirm Kuhmo dates then will post dates and update etc
Hope thats clear
Cheers

i hope the cars are better from the car club than some of the tat they had when it was the 21st birthday job. Zone helped them out no end at Gaydon and rockingham i remember
I'm up for Brands, look forward to details of the event, especially track usage.

It always nice to get nice cars on display but you have to get people to turn up and can only start picking when you know the cars and people coming if space is limited or trying to achieve a specific mix etc
Simon..Not aware there was any limitation at the 21st birthday therefore everyone was welcome I guess, which is the same at Brands. I dont want to be stop people from coming because some people dont think there car is as nice as others, people love their cars and strive to improve it and may well learn from others or upgrade.
As its the 25th at Gaydon the idea currently is to try and get as many silver cars of as many different shapes and engine sizes etc so will have to pick cars, but other colours and models from car club members will have space if people commit now...
The Donnington trackday should be open to all also...cost for the track though
Thanks again for the support and hope to see you all during 2008

For info: plan is to have an award not just for the best car, but to have a certificate for a car from each E30 model range eg: Tourer, Cab, Hartge, Alpina, 2 door, 4 door etc ...Some of these different cars are sometimes forgotten and they are all important
