Ive been toying with the idea of black wheels for a while, prob satin black and prob x spokes. Anyway, i fancy having a go at doing it myself as i cant find any for sale. So...has anybody done this before? any tips maybe?

just make sure you smooth any imperfections in the wheel with some wet and dry or i think its called scotch something? clean em up, use the scotch to put a key down for the paint, mask off everything you don't want painting and go for it! It is dead simple.

i dont think it will look pikey. but it wont be very strong!
i can get them done for 35quid a wheel from a guy who repairs scuffs and scratches on the wheels of our work cars. but you are probably looking at 50 quid a wheel out of the trade.

i also did my wheels myself using basic of the shelf cans of car spray paint from halfords. i spent a weekend on each wheel rubbing down,priming(2 coats) colour(3coats) and clear laquer(2coats) to give a good quality mettalic finish that has lasted about a year with no flaking.
