I want to replace all the clips for new one's when i come around to fitting the kit.

Here's what £400 buys you...

I've been in two minds whether to tech 2 it or not, and finally decided that i want to add a personal touch to the outside aswell.

Now it's just a case of getting off my arse to get the whole kit sprayed!

The skirts are just standard SE skirts (one's on the car) and the new one's are tech 2 skirts.

Got the Digital Receiver and Amplified antenna through the post today so thought i'd test it out. Wasn't expecting it to pick many channels up.

Anyways, tried the it out, and guess what, it picked up 0 channels! :(

I thought maybe it was faulty so i tested the receiver indoors...working fine, and picking up the same amount of channels my current receiver was.

Fed up i packed it all up, and went out for a bit.

*a few hours later*.....

Decided to have another go and test the digital aerial and receiver out.

Firstly i tested the aerial to see if it was working properly or not. This time i took the power source from the head-unit to be sure it was powering up correctly.

I then connected it to the analogue TV on the DVD player....and it picked up all 5 terrestrial channels perfectly :D

Having seen that the aerial is definately working properly now, and knowing that the digital receiver definately works, i connected it back up again.

Having played about with the aerial for a bit i realised that it need to be 'flat' on a surface in order to work correctly.

As a result i had the following channels working in perfect quality:-

Sky Sports News
Sky News
BBC Parliment
BBC News 24
Cbeebies
CBBC
Gems TV
smileTV
Film4
ITV2 +1
E4 +1
Ideal World
TMF
Virgin1
Dave
The HITS
UKTV History
SKY Three
BBC Four
BBC Three
BBC Two
BBC One

It also gets a few radio channels aswell.

:D

I know it's not all of the channels (shite reception in my area), but Sky Sports News was the main one that i wanted to work and that does! :D

Sky Sports News in perfect quality on the move! Now that's

I'll get some pics up once i've installed it all properly.

Very true.

I was actually looking for a tech 2 kit and leather interior for it before i bought the car!!!

Having bought the car though, and seen how it looks in real life (pics just don't show the meanness (is that even a word??) of that front end), i'm not sure if it's going to lose any aggressive stance :?

That said, i'm sure that the tech 2 will look good, and as the front valance will be colour coded it'll look lower than it does right now aswell.

More mods are yet to come aswell as the rear Head-rest monitors should be in the post this week, and will be installed on arrival :D

I understand what you mean..i think how it looks right now suits the euro look, but i think the tech 2 is just a cleaner image, and is more towards what i'm going for.

As you say Euro Luxury is kind of what i'm going after!

Who'd think a car that was made in 1988 would have Digital TV, Reversing camera, rear head-rest monitors, touch-screen DVD supporting Divx and a lots of speakers/subs/amps!

Luxury is where I'm at right now, and the amount of time i spend in the car, believe me I need it!

oh and the spending is on hold till new year now (been off sick for 2 1/2 weeks so this month pay packet may be a bit small :( ).

But i have a few plans for it in the new year :D

The reversing camera needs adjusting as it's at an angle and the infa-red led's shine off the tints and cause a slight blur on the image.

The grainy image you see in the pics is caused by the camera being set on macro and not the image on screen. Being digital it will only display crystal clear images.

Looking good bro -

What are the rear screens did you use. Looks a good fit DIY or did you buy them?

Bought the screens off ebay, bot too happy with them as they were advertised as having a resolution of 1440 x 234 (same as my head-unit, and gives a crystal clear picture) but they sent me monitors that are 480 x 234 which is much lower quality, and while normal scenes are the same as the head-unit, action scenes become 'pixelated' so i'm in the process of getting that sorted out with the supplier. They're still watchable, but i'm really fussy, and want them perfect

Alarm wise i was going to get the Viper 480vx, but seen as you can't see into the car at night due to the tints, no-one even thinks twice about it. My area's pretty good aswell, park our cars on the street outside and don't have any problems.

Will look into the alarm again once i've got some spare cash.

Digital signal is poor in Derby, Terrestrial works better on the move, but will weaken when a car goes past the rear window (where i mounted my aerial).

I suppose you could mount the aerial somewhere else and get a better signal, but it's trial and error.

I normally only use either the Terrestrial TV or Digital TV when parked, and just put music or a DVD on when driving.

Nice touring!

Now, I know I'm a bit too late with this, but instead of cutting the handle bar of the indicator you could have installed a centerconsole of e LHD.

I'm from belgium, and somebody did the opposit over here!

Image

It's not plug and play, but is quite handy. Screen is better visible for the driver as well.

Yes i knew about that mod, but couldn't get hold of a lhd dash in time, and was in a rush to fit the screens

I may still do it though as i'm hoping of adding a full OBC in the future and thus would be better if i had the indicator stalk working to make it complete.

Well, if you need one, I can allways look for somebody over here that wants a RHD version. Then it's only the cost of the postage you'll have to pay.

probably work out pretty expensive that way.

I'm not in a rush, so i'll pick one up when ever it comes around.

On a different note, i've started prepping the Mtech 2 kit, the weather is playing havoc with my plans as I can only work in the garden and it keeps raining.

Once everything's been prepped up i'm going to get them sprayed and fitted.
