Hi all.

Thanks for the comments.
For all those interested heres a bit of background (and pics) of my Air Suspension.
I allways wanted a really low car but after fitting my body kit it was too low, kept getting smashed up!
So Air sus was the answer. I went for Air over Hydraulics because,
1.) Air was cheaper & easier.
2.) Air has a better ride (not as harsh).
3.) More room, you lose all your boot as "Hydro" normally needs minimum of 4 batteries to power it.
As you can see all i have in my boot is an Air compressor, Tank, Master board &
wiring, solinoid and electics to a standard battery.

I went for fast air which takes couple of seconds from full height to lowest just front and back up/down, (not bothered about gangster rap style bouncing/dancing).

ImageImage
At the back an Air bag is installed between the car base and suspension arm retaining the shock absorber, at the front the whole of the stut has to be replaced with a custom made one incorperating the air bag.Image

And finally all controlled by this little unit under the heater controlsImage
Thanks for looking hope you found it interesting.Image
Cheers Neil.

It's a bit too much. You couldn't drive it, unless on a runway.

sorry mate. i dont like it as the styling is more suited to a sleeker jap car rather than a boxy e30 but i wont beat about the bush insulting your inteligence with the standard "if eveyone liked the same the world would be a boring place" and "i can appreciate the work thats gone into it" sitting on the fence politically correct bollocks that usually gets typed up :D

No disrespect dude but
It looks as if you've forgotten to fit some rear springs

Other than that
Respect for doing something different
Lot of folks here won't like it coz it ain't your normal 60/40 H&R or Bilstein kitted Tech2 std car

Is that a genuine Reiger splitter or a copy?

Is this car driven or just for show? I'd wouldn't be able to drive 1 block with the roads in my area......

Must admit not to my taste, but then that's what modding's about....it's your car, so if you like it, sod everyone else!

Rear seats stripped out to make way for the suspension gear and the next project ICE.
Thanks for looking.
:o:

DOH.....my bad for not reading the post properly....out of curiousity (sp) how much did that kit set you back?? Just wondering if they've come down in price since i was looking at them many years ago for a jap hatch i had at the time. :o:

Hi all,

Thanks for the comments,
In reply to a few questions, yes the Reiger kit is genuine,
The air suspension kit can be raised and lowered with the touch of a button.
As much as i would love to drive round with it this low (British roads won't allow it!) i don't,
so it no problem for everyday driving. It cost nearly £2000 fitted.
The gear lever is just a bit of fun goin for a touring/racing car style?

Cheers Neil.

Fair play fella but I got a couple of questions for you. In the interior whats the red switch for below the headlight adjusters? Whats the big chrome block for to the right of the handbrake? Whats the dial for below the heater controls? Is this the car that had E36 M3 seats? If it is, why did you get rid mate? I've been after a pair of them for ages. As for the exterior do you get much earache from the coppers about the window tints, especially the windscreen? Finally are you going to colour code the bumpers and side bumpstrips?

That should keep you busy for a while! :D

Hi all,

Thanks Nemo,
the red switch and chrome block are for interior Neons, the dial near heater is for the Suspension Air pressure,
and Yes i did have the M3 seats in it but they didn't fit quiet right (subframes to wide) so couldn't really adjust the position much also got the Bucket cheap and wanted to be sat really low (bolted directly to the floor).
Exterior wise yes i've had loads of grief off Coppers but got it sorted now passed all the test's.
Not sure weather to Colour Code bumpers or not (think i've done to much all ready?)

ill325
No probs,
yes that was my M3 aswell it been sold now.
Cheers Neil.

I don't want to say yes yet so what do think?

Cheers Neil.
