Hi M30 users, :D
Hope you all are preparing for Xmas, and sorry to bug you...

I have some issues, of course on M30 related.
My car is over heating within 5 minutes when it starts. there's no air in the system as the thermostat is heigher than radiator, but the HOSE from expasion tank to the engine thermostat housing (see pic #1) i connected this way.

I noticed this hose is always stay cold, and the main water hose is gets very hot within 5 minutes.
My tempratute guage is not functioning despite i changed both sensors, but no use, that seems like some electrical issues, i guess 8O

is it due to a failed thermostat or water pump ? :o:

Also you notice that I have used a E34 clutch fan(slightly modifyed by reducing 1.5 inch fan diameter to awoid touching the hood,

I fitted a valve cover breather filter and used E34 carbon filter also (bling..bling) :D
Pic #2 is taken before the clutch fan mod and posted in a previous thread.

Your advice will be heighly appreciated like you guys helped me before

First question is how do you know it's overheating, without a gauge?
You realise that you need a M20 brown temperature sensor with one terminal in place of the M30 two pin one, do you?
If it is overheating, the thermostat is the first suspect.

Lots of hot water coming through the expansion tank's overflow hose.
Any mods on temp. gauge ? :o:

To sort the temperature gauge, take the c101 engine loom plug and socket apart (beside the fusebox), and identify pin 4 of the car body side (brown/purple wire, under the rubber boot).
Switch on the ignition and short this pin to earth. The gauge should go to full hot.
If it does, check that the wire connected to pin 4 on the engine loom plug is the same wire that comes out in the sensor connector, on the same pin that mates with the single pin on an M20 brown temp. sensor.
Hot water blowing out the expansion tank overflow could be just a duff pressure cap. 'O' rings intact?
