the 323 will be l-jetronic, so you cant get a zone chip

the best way is to fit an FSE, and up the fuel pressure a bit (maybe use a 325 FPR?!) and advance the rotor on the dizzy to give it a bit more 'oomph'

can also do the BBTB and a K&N panel filter... possibly fit a higher diff (eg 3.91) rather than the 3.64 that your car possibly has...will give you more accel

Hi Daz, even though we know your 323 lump is pukka mate I'm afraid you're going to have to spend some money to be able to rip up 325's.
The mods 320touring is talking about will make a differance but they are stuff any 325 driver could do, and what you would do any way if you put a 2.5 lump in the 320. I think you should seriously consider a 2.5 lump mate, especially as I don't think the old 323 will just plug and play in to the 320 ecu like a 325 engine would. And any way why don't we just find you a 525e and put you're 323 head on it? budget 2.7! The amount of effort a 323 transplant will take you might as well go the whole hog
