Thought id post up a few pics of the smileys ive smoked.
Thing is the pics are crap but after p1ssing about for half an hour to host them ill put them up anyway
This is the 4th set ive done and definately look the best.
I used really thin metal to make the X`s this time, thin enough to cut with scissors so they are a bit neater.
Anyway heres the (crap) pics, hope you like :D

Hairyscreech you mean paint the backing/Xhairs Red instead of Black?
If so I know someone who was thinking of doing a set in Orange for their trackcar.

What type of metal did you use then?

I tried with thin metal first, and found that it becomes warped very easily!

I've got all the parts to make 2 sets of smoked smileys but never get round to putting them together :(

I would imagine you would still need to paint the front of the 'X' black? and the sides red.... If you get my drift?

You could do this by putting a thin layer of black paint (good coat of aerosol would do it) on to a plate / flat surface and lay the 'x' on top

Blue peter stylee

I got a bag of them given to me but they need modding to fit Bosch lights as they were originally cut for Hella(I think).
I have a cardboard cut out here but have no idea how to get it on here in `actual size`!

where did you get the thin metal from?

what sealant did you use put join them back together?

Does the sealant have to be high temp?

I am trying to find some black sealant!

I used the heatshield which goes around the steering column exit in the engine bay winkeye
As said, once flattened out it is easy to cut up with household scissors..but dont let the misses catch you :D
I use Black all weather sealant from BQ.Cost about £3 for a tube and has done 4 sets so far with no signs of leaks etc!

HTH :)
