THAT is a beautiful car! I see you have a Racing Dynamics nadge - is it just the badge (which is nice) or do you have some "add ons" from RD?

I need new badges for mine - but I can't but something else than BMW on it unless I've got the correct modifications - I am so correct
:(

I think I will go for Ac Schnitzer tuning - easy for me to get - and not so expensive as Alpina and Hartge I think.

His manifold is worth more than some of the cars which pass through this forum.

THAT IS THE best looking manifold I've seen on an E30 8O

Doesn't look that much different from the one in my E34 M5, apart from the fact that this one is stainless steel and SHINY

Damn, must have cost a lot!

i believe it was not shiny in stock form just plain stainless...

ures is prob the same racing dynamics but more common on the e34s.....i dont know of any other e30 with one...or an m20 engine with them

got it 2nd hand-cheers Jit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lets see a pic of ures!

I'll pop out and take a quick shot of the engine bay.... it looks lame next to yours  (maybe not lame... more tame probably  )

In the meantime here is a picture of Racing Dynamics for a 535
Image

Well that didn't take too long... took a pic of how low the car is as well... my watch is 3.5 cm in "height" on the pic... doesn't leave much room for the sump does it

woah that looks like one from an e28 m5

e34 m5 manifold is very different to that one shown in ure pic?

is that on ure e30? looks like a hartge one or something it does!

please shed some more light as u say u have an e34 m5 but thats not an e34 m5 that has that manifold!

Hehe - no no... I HAD an E34 M5 (about two years ago, and an E21 323i + 1977 911 in the meantime until I got the Touring)

The 6 branch in the E34 M5 is quite different but it reminds me of the design on your Racing Dynamics, however I couldn't find a pic on the internet of it :( Only from the E28...

And yes.. this 6 branch on the pic is on my Touring, I am very interested in knowing what sort it is... it seems to work well and the sound is GREAT.

But from what I gather on the internet the gains from a Racing Dynamics 6 branch like yours is about twice that of an Alpina 6 branch!!! They have dyno graphs for a 19 hp gain - that is so high it must be from both a manifold and a chip or something. Alpina only promises about 7 hp for their manifold.

the bore size is quite a lot bigger on the racing dynamics m20 one compared to an e34 m5 manifold like is on the e34 m5 engine i have sitting in my garage

Yes it is LHD.... it does look similar to the Hartge one.. I guess I will need to find pics of Alpina and Ac Schnitzer as well to be sure...

Your red car will be awesome with this engine... my favorite engine of all the M engines - it is a 3.6 right, not the 3.8?

I can imagine it sounds mean with this manifold!!! You don't have any sound examples do you?

well my advice is make sure you beat the bloody thing far enough that the engine won't touch it anywhere!

taking the whole thing apart and the motor out once you have it all running because the shell's rattling and vibrating is not fun  mine was fine when idling in the garage but once it was all finished it was horrible under load and sweet in reverse! :x

but then i'm sure you'll do it properly unlike me
