The time has sadly come for faithful and trusty Brown to bow out

Either tonight or early tomorrow morning will be his last voyage to his final resting place in my parent's front garden (not that they know this yet) where he'll be stripped of anything useful before the remains are sent off to the crusher :(

It's been fun ol' bean, but all good things must end and the less powerful must make way for the more powerful.

Waaaaaaaaaaah

Yes indeed, I'll be back in an E30 as soon as I can! :D

Kind of picked the closest 'E' number I could find though, off to pick up an E32 740i. Keeping it in the family I guess :)

Funnily enough though, the E30 that's going to replace Brown is Pink at the moment :D

Yeah, we both have (his is a bit shinier than mine <massive understatement>)

However, don't think anyone's got a twin sequential setup yet :D

Well, that was a long day!

Got up at 5:20 this morning and my mate unbelievably kindly drove me from Farnham to Milford Haven (which is about as far along the south coast of Wales as you can go) to pick up this new car, and then followed me back (even when I was doing 40mph because those bloody matrix signs were on!).

Got back a couple of hours ago in my mildly rusty 740i. It is without doubt the MOST comfortable car I've ever driven! Probably the thirstiest too!

Just got one modification planned for it, make a straight through back box so that I can hear my glorious V8 rumble. Seems to start and idle fine so I'm vaguely hopeful that it's not got a Nikasil block. but we'll see

Happy Piiiiig!

Unfortunately the reason I'm having to take the car off the road is the frilly shell.

This is true, one wouldn't want to introduce "rusty" bits to pink, could cause all sorts of problems!

It's ok if you wipe any old components that you slip out of brown before you put them in pink, You could use an old rag or, I dunno a bed sheet? :D

Aaaaaaaaaaand here it is!

I'm particularly fond of the brown stripe down the sides

Me and my flat-mate are going to make a monument to Brown out of part of a door skin and the door handle mounted on a little plinth.

This is also a handy tip when after inserting components into pink you discover traces of red on said component. Curtains are a really good method of cleansing. Do not under any cicumstances use alchol based wipes!!!!!

Car looks very tidy btw.
