I am so happy, finally bought ALL the parts to finish off my project and now just waiting on the 60mm lowering kit, full kit not just springs. Complete new rear bushes, brakes and a full service, cannot wait just in time for summer cruising and meeting some of you lot!

Just got MOT and full respray after that, nice, getting all excited, ooops maybe a lil too excited  .

Either way regards Mark.

It must be great to be so close to having your project done and knowing another E30 is returned to it's best

Lowered one of my previous motors 60m was the worst thing I ever did! far too low, I remember batting down the Mway and catching me exhaust on what looked like a flat road obviously a slight change in the level, I nearly pooed me self at the noise at that speed.
Dont ever attempt to go into a multi storey carpark unless you can get a place on the first level!!
And dont start me off on the criss-crossin of sleeping police men (stupid name or wot?) malarkey. If its not too late I'd reconsider.

It is a great feeling, just finished welding the sill on today and brakes ready to go on, wheels being refurbed by a mate who works at BMW dealer doing just that, and last thing I am waiting for is the lowering kit. Cracking feeling.

Peejay, thanks for your opinion, but my last E30 was dropped 60mm with a full kit and was the best handling car I have driven loved it, yes I will have to watch where and how I drive but hey its the price you pay!

Pics will be up of the latest work probably tomorrow:

Regards Mark.

17's are ok but yeh 40mm is the max drop unless you wanna start mashin up your front skirt, exhaust etc. Ive just put some 17 inch 5 claw spoke deep rim racing alloys with Nankang rubbers on, wot a difference to ride, feel ,stickability the whole package has transformed my car, in particular the look!

Sorry guys but when I had a 60mm drop the only problem I had was the rear mudflaps hitting ground when I floored it, solved that one by taking them off! Its all good fun, in my opinion no-one can say that it is too low, it all depends on tyre size, wheel size, driving style and most of all confidence, looks are a by product. I know how I drive and what feels right to me and I am sticking by past experience thats all there is too it.

I hope you all have-had a cracking weekend I know I have, under my car in the sun, your right the lead up is alot of fun, and yes loads of last min jobs but thats all in the anticipation.

Regards Mark.

Mine is lowered 80/60 and I haven't had any problems (apart from the ride being pretty stiff)... but then again I've only driven about 900 km and haven't parked in parking house (have to admit, I hadn't thought about that practical side of matters  )

No idea how much mine is lowered but its at least 60mm and the ride is actually surprisingly good. Ive no idea what suspension kit is in it but its not bad if a little soft.
