I'm 99% sure I'm going to matt black the touring.

Also thinking about doing the headlights & main beams in yellow ala french style. Reckon the windows with a silver tint would also have it looking pretty rude and a suitable drop.

So has anyone got any pics of ratty looking e30's, particularly tourings. Just need some spank material until I can look out on the driveway and see my own effort

Matt black is hard to keep clean.
I would go with satin black.

Agreed, a rat doesn't have to be in Matt Black but, this seems to be the chosen 'Daddy rat' colour to have.

Pulled the Touring back out the body shop when my lad was born 5 months ago as I needed it,yet to go back!
I think the yellow primer/filler & Sterling silver is quite fetching,oh and with a splash of Salisbury Plains up the sides

this is not a bad idea but would they dull the brightness of the lights? that would be really bad! these e30's dont have the brightest lights ever

Matt black is just horrid - there's no excuse for it on a car with half decent paint. It also makes the car absolutely valueless. The market for old BMW's handpainted matt black is a bit small.
