Hi, i was looking for some advice really...

I've recently bought and fitted a 7" motorised touch-screen dvd player, and it has GPS support. But i don't know how to connect GPS to it!

I mean do you connect one of the seperate units like the likes of alpine/pioneer etc use, or can you just insert the GPS SD card into the player?

I've emailed the seller who's been really helpful upto now, and i'm waiting for a reply, but if anyone out there has enabled the GPS on such a dvd player, then i would appreciate some help.

This is the head-unit

and this is the wiring it has at the back

my understanding is you need the USB cable that goes to the unit, and then into the USB port on the RHS of the stereo.

Not a bad find, but I'd need one with IPOD controls! Good luck!

Would that be using something like a tom tom or just one of the seperate GPS units like the known brands use?

I've never really liked ipods, and don't really see the point in having ipod connection, when you can fit as many tracks/movie clips on SD cards these days anyway. Main issue for me was that it was Divx compatible, had audio pre-outs for the amps, and that it was cheap winkeye For the money i can't really complain. :D

Almost all the gps will have the usb connector.
Not sure if you could just get a remote aerial for a gps and connect it up. You might be able to as I think my brother has done this back in Oz.

Don't think it'll have the gps software already on there as can't find it in the menu's..just shows that it supports GPS, but won't switch to it unless it's connected (like an aux connection) if that makes sense.

what is do you mean by 'remote aerial for a gps'? do you mean the gps receiver things on ebay?
