You all stock?

would get about 7-10 HP gain from a FULL exaust system...you could chip it,fit racing cams..the list is endless really

depends on how much money your willing to spend

think the cheapest would be bigger throttle b's & exhaust system

though im no pro with the E30's so outhers could probably be a lil more helpfull than lil ol me

:)

The 2.5 is the M20. And to get up to that with out building a 2.7 will be a very pricy affair. A MAF conversion, increase in CR, shrick cam, BBTB and a 6 branch exhaust is probably the way to start. But I think this will only reap 190bhp max although I could stand corrected.

I think Karans 2.7 only just produces 220bhp and he has spent a lot on the build, so I'm afraid you're aiming a bit high.

Oh and yeah the auto box will take it, there is a guy on here with an auto 2.7 can't remember who though.

Welocme to the world of the M20 engine..lol

i too have the same problem as do most here i think...ive just found out about the chips myself and would get between 4-12HP gain depending on what chip and what outher mods you do to yer Lump...

and yea, there 55 squids..that and an exaust system would give you a noticible difference...

what about a mopified Air-filter? ... PiperCross/K&N etc etc.. you can squeeze a few HP outa them too..

Email addy for chip Info : chips@e30zone.co.uk

cheers

" There's no substitute for cubic inches" someone once said. And they wern't wrong.
2.7 litre build is the way to go, if you want to stick with the M20. That way you get the power you want, along with reliability, and a nice tractable, driver friendly engine.

Forget which thread it was in, but someone mentioned that the MAF conversion was about Ԛ£700. However, an Emerald setup can cost less than that which could well lead to some more power and also the complete loss of the air flow sensor :)

Tis quite a lot of money, but then finding another 30-40bhp is never going to be cheap :(

Turbos, you know they're the way!

2.7 build is gonna be round the Ԛ£2k mark if done properly with custom pistons etc..... then ull need extra goodies like cams/exhast/inlet big tb

list goes on really!

then with emerald standalone ecu u shold get 210hp...

mine when last dynod was 213hp and 220lb torque, with old 6 branch, now have a new one, may get car dynod soon actally as its workin great at the moment-would be nice to see 220hp

on the road this equates to porsche boxster humbling speed....0-60 in 6 secs flat and 1/4 in 14.5 with top whack at 144 gps.......
