Not sure if I regret it yet or not, guess I'll know after I've pick it up next weekend
What can people tell me about the E32 740i?

They're fast(ish) but overgeared. Get a 3.91 (730i E32) diff in there and they're very quick.

It was indeed an e-bay purchase. It's in the middle of nowhere too, like a 6hour train journey away!
What a twat

It's just a temporary replacement for Brown (and all things E30) until the twin sequential comes together next year.
Please don't start suggesting things like that Glenn!is this a doner for a V8 conversion alex?

Think you'll love it....
by no means "sporty" but for a relaxing cruiser with a bit of oooommph for "Peanuts" they are unbeatable
... my Dad has had two 730i s and loves 'em (but maybe you didn't want to hear that
)
Was it the Green one in Wimborne ?

Check the block. It shoud be an Alusil one not Nikasil. With Nikasil you can have problems with bores (well known problem with M60 engines). Over ten years ago I used to have 750iL E32 and I can say it is pefect if you are working hard. I was relaxing during driving.
