I bought two of these on the strength of the original thread, and am just about to fit the first one now!
Seems to be quite well made kit with self contained fusing.
One small niggle is that there is only one output to flash the lights for arming/disarming, and an E30 needs two. There are two diodes included in the box which are for this purpose, but absolutely no indication of what they are for!
The two remotes are 'self learning', which could be an advantage as long as they don't suffer from memory troubles, as remote replacement is easier.

would that mean that any body else would be able to buy the same kit and unlock your car though?

not without being near the remote relay as you have to delete the memory via a button on the relay for a remote to set its self up! HTH

I just got mine, and had the blank key cut at my local locksmith. Really nice bit of kit for the money. Also has a window closure output, which will work with the appropriate module.

There's no electrical release for the boot on an E30, so it can't be used. Not without adding some aftermarket solenoid, anyway.
Why anyone should want to release the boot lid with a remote control escapes me!

It's not the ideal way of solving the problem, but it should work.

Why would you want to install remote central locking in the first place? Chances are because you want to save time. Same Idea behind a remote unlocking boot, it's saves time (it may just be a couple of seconds, but it's probably the same amount of time it would take to lock your doors manually).
