Can i suggest that unless a resolution is reached that a negative feedback thread not be locked.
I know Steve requested that that one be but a locked thread drops like a stone and must be numerous pages down the list by now.
Not having a go or blaming anyone just a thought.
Engine conversions, Auto to manual conversions, parts, servicing etc etc... For anything e30 call 07718 901737

I have just put this list together and made it a sticky.

Can't do much more than that at the moment I'm afraid.

I asked for it to be locked as mike paid up in the end and in my eyes but see where spadge is coming from as the negative ones drop out the way .
I have been stung again on the zone but havent mentioned it on here , Id only collect now or buy off a recommended zoner , They will be dealt with before xmas and escorted to a cashpoint
Trouble is mate, if you dont mention it then he/she can siting others.
Unless there are circumstances that are relevant then name and shame them, that way the bad ones only get one bite at the cherry. Amazes me how many newbies seem to start there Zone "life" with a for sale post.

Not infering that they are all on the make by any means but could we not make it so they have to make or participate in at least 10 threads before they can advertise anything. Know its extra work and time for you mods but hey its not like your.e busy or anything :)

Will only entice people to whore, Can't see it solving anything.

I personally, And this is completely out of zone mod mode & is not the view of the team, think a nominal monthly charge would help.

Even 2.50 per month would be better than nowt. Maybe have it go into a kitty and those that are stung get some sort of compensation. But that opens a whole new load of probems up. Will people start claiming it hasn't turned up to claim back. :?

**Now returning to mod mode**

Well, And again this is my personal view & not that of the team, I think everyone should be restricted from selling.

To sell on the forum, you would have to contact one of the team who would then review your input on the forum and decide if you have made a valid contribution to the community or if you are just out to make a fast buck.

If when we review the users forum usage and there is a lot of spam, or mainly "nice car" & "well done" type posts then the user will get the opportunity to sell on the forum but it will cost them a fee per month. We could with refuse the right to allow someone to ever sell on the forum if we deem necessary.

The long term users that we know we can trust will have no problems continuing with selling as usual.

As the sales are will be a perk, It can just as easily be removed from the users profile so they then have to prove themselves all over again.

I'd have no problems with a little bit of extra work looking through someones forum content if it meant the zone would be a safer place to buy & sell.

What do we think? :?

how about having it just like piston heads, just an advert with contact details so that no one could spam it :) then it could still be free but an allocated mod to keep an eye on sellers :)

What about a karma system (I think htis would be a really good idea)? Seller feedback? These things are seen on other forums (evolutionm etc), no replies to adverts (e36coupe) etc. HOw about approval being required for for sale posts?

In freeads its buyer beware, see a car for sale on the road and its buyer beware, buy a car on ebay and if its not as described you walk away (buyer beware).

Why should it be any different here? just because the seller or buyer are users of the 'Zone' doesn't mean they are trust worthy. If you can't afford to loose the money buy from a shop, or get the seller to put up some sort of security on their purchase (like their own address, and home phone number incase you want payback!)

PM people that have dealt with them, or check the feedback threads, can't take 5mins to work out how to use the search function (for even people with limited intelligence), and if you've never seen the feedback forum then you either cant read or are blind in which case you shouldn't really be using an online forum.

All this I paid so and so £200 for something worth twice as much and it hasn't arrived moaning gets on my nerves. I can see how some people could get caught out by a previously trusworthy seller, but when the guy is known to be upto this sort of thing or has even never traded before or seems to have 0 posts alarm bells should be ringing!

If you need it that bad collection with cash is the only way to go, regardless of where its located thats the only way you won't be wasting your money, I live in Bournemouth and I've traveled to Leeds to buy a car off of Dazleeds and it was fine (he even let me owe him some £Â£ cos all the cash machines round his way where shafted) and we settled up later. I went to London for IS parts, and travelled to North of Gloucester for some seats from Oldoyds (and came away with alot more) all sound guys and no probs cos I got off my arse.

Thank you to all the poeple I've traded with, no probs as yet. But thats how I do business.

and Apologies to chrisW, still havent posted your ABS ECU, which I will do tomorrow as I'm off work.

There are many many zone traders now, most with "Zone Trader" or similar next to their avatar, I think if you want to sell you should have to apply for the right to by applying to a team member (not a mod!), if you are trusted you are granted that permission, if not you arn't, if you f*ck up then again permission is revoked. But the application to sell should be accompanied by your postal address, home tel number and mobby number. Any problems with a sale and the team member responsible can pass these details to a seller, as ebay does. MAybe the threat of someone who you owe money too knowing where you live would prompt people to buck their ideas up.

Team members have the final say, But the mods have their fair share of input.

TBH The team members have enough to deal with without sorting selling schemes too.

I know what your saying about post whoring but i think making it a minimum 100 posts before you can sell anythking would be a good deterent.

This actual problem of people ripping people off isn't really about cars though mate.
Obviously when buying a car you go and see it and take it away if you buy it so no chance of never seing it after paying.
