What are the best cleaning products?

My parents have agreed to get me a full cleaning kit for my e30 this Christmas. I don't really have a clue about the products out there so if I could get some reccomendations of what go for that would be great.

I want pretty much everything included so if there is a full kit out there great otherwise Il just get everything individually.

Personally what I find great is Zymol car wash, Meguiars clay bar kit, Autoglym Super Resin Polish, Meguiars Show car Glaze (No. 7) and topped off with a coat of Collinite 476S.

There's plenty of helpful guys over on detailing world. After trawling through loads of threads there they helped me pick out the stuff suggested. You'll get everything for 40 - 70 quid.

Clay bars help to pull out any contamination on / in your paintwork that washing alone doesn't remove. Your paint will feel like glass afterwards, it'll help with polishing and waxing too.
To see if your car needs it, put a sandwich bag over your hand and run it over a freshly washed / dried panel. If it "grabs" it could do with the clay treatment.

shampoo - Megs gold class
wax - Try mirror image by Autosmart - this product polishes and waxes all in one with good results
polish - As above
clay - Megs clay bar
You'll need a some microfibre cloths too to apply the polish and also to buff off

There's hundreds of different products on the market with budgets to suit all. IMO Autosmart is very good and reasonably priced with excellent results.

Thanks for your help, what is the difference in using a micro fibre cloth compared to an applicator?

Cotty the kits seems like a very good buy. Just one thing to be careful of is the waffle weave drying towel. Ive heard that these can scratch your paintwork. Other than that a decent bit of kit

mate you have got to be mad, or got £$£$£$ coming out of your ears to spend £40 on cleaning products, simple small bottle of t cut, to get the crap of the paint work and any light scratches, then a nice bottle of wax of your choice! those 2 wouldnt come to £15 and some old t shirts to put it on with. spend sunday cleaning it. your arms will ache like mental if you have put some effort into it!!!
t cut do a special polish/t cut mix with pretty much any colour, and if your car is lucky enough to be black it works awesome, hides everthing.
£15 save u a fortune
oh and a bucket of soapy warm water

mate i dont think you realise how much Hubbles kit is worth,

i know ive spent alot of products for my car probally near 700 including my porter cable etc.

I must have £500 worth of stuff at the moment, And that is without any machinery.

I'd rather spend it on detailing products than going out and getting p*ssed or shoving class A's up my hooter.

Also did a mates 360 Hanman kitted Ferrari aswell as a favour etc,
