The thought came to me when I noticed the insane number of engine conversions people are doing to this classic iconic car.
Not only are they doing engine conversions but they're all done with the help of the rest of the zone community. People who have never tackled anything mechanical before ate building engines and they work!!
Do you reckon we could get a slot of some sort on top gear?

Not sure adam, but it would be very good if we could!!
Cars such as ians M3 powered sport, some of the mint M3's on here etc. Be quite cool, they often talk about older motors and classics, so....
Not sure how youd go about it though

Would be great! But I can't see it happening... there's an awful lot of car clubs out there; why would they be particularly interested in old bmws?

Sounds not a bad idea but we need to pick a different place as a couple members live in Brighton already ie: Swirlye30(Hello mate). The Top Gear event sounds absolutely brilliant!!!!!!!!!!
We could all keep phoning them to get us on, imagine
But i have to say it, has anyone ever heard Clarksons views on BM's? NOT GOOD!

As far as I can see Clarkson would love 325's, it's got a decent sized engine, it drives the right wheels, and they're CHEAP! He's always going on about how you can have fun on a budget, I've thought of this before but more on the lines of their Cheap Porche bit they did. Do you think the 325 would hold the record for the fastest and cheapest car around the top gear track? Which can be used everyday (ie isn't a totally rusted out porche) and is reliable. And then you bring on the nutters with the big engines.
We should all send an email to top.gear@bbc.co.uk and give them the idea, if they think there are enogh of us then the'll think there are enough people who would want to watch it.

I know its a bit late to say about it but those who can make it, all well & good. Sunday 12th June, Ԛ£15 to drag as many times as u want.

Tis a good idea Adam,I thought of this on Sunday after JC was saying you needed a Range Rover to tackle Salisbury Plains,I know this clearly isn't the case,I can get an E30 in places you'd think impossible!
I looked all over their website but couldn't really find any kind of direct link to send ideas for the show,it seems they have already got ideas and want people to add to this,
I was going to submit some pics of the Filthy30 meet I organised but couldn't find anywhere to do it.
Maybe someone else can...........

I think the only way a non-M E30 would get on Top Gear was if it was being destroyed in some spectacular fashion by Clarkson

I have been to Crail a few times, not recently though. Would definitley go if the zone was goin
I prefer Edzell meets as they are nearer to me, there is usually plenty to see, a heap of E30s there would b cool. Events there are postponed at the mo tho.
