Hello all,

A good mate is about to start fitting a high spec M50 Turbo conversion to his e30 tourer, all the parts are in, like low comp forged pistons, H-beam rods, ARP top & bottom end kit, MLS gaskets etc etc but he's not sure which engine mounts to use.

Can anyone advise which and why please?

Also is the position an issue, any do and dont's?

Thanks, Mark.

E28 M5 mounts are the usual (rubber) mounts used for M50/S50 conversions. You also use the E36 alloy mounting arms. E34 M50 arms are different.

When you drop the engine on the mounts, you need to make sure the lower stud on the mounts goes in the outer hole in the subframe. Apart from this, it drops straight in.

Ian.
