Went down to York on saturday to pick up this wonderful 325i cab.
Previous owner had spent 5K on respray.new hood and a £1700 engine rebuild.I,m almost embarrissed to admit what i payed for it,
which was less than the engine rebuid.Despite the clock reading 182k the transmission is silent, lots of money has been spent on this motor, even new injectors.
Originally i spotted this car on ebay, the first listing didn't meet the reserve,so when it was relisted i went down to see the owner, who was naturally quite frustrated that the car was going nowhere.
I asked him what the reserve was...and he told me..whereupon i made him an offer, and the rest is history.

The only mod i plan to do is add a hartge chromie rear valence which happens to be lurking in my garage.

The chap said everybody was telling him to sell it for more, but the trouble was nobody was buying,he dropped the original reserve of £1800 down to £1500,and i payed the latter.
Which goes to proove that if you want to buy a cab, make sure summer isn't around.
BMW have done it again.a 20 year old car that runs and handles great with (when not pushing it) very little shake and skuttle.Even the doors shut perfectly.i guess i quite like this car!

not really down to bmw. more down to the previous owner who spent big money to maintain it.
occasionally a gem turns up on ebay but its the amount of sh1te you have to dig through to get to it

Good work!!!
I was suprised to see how much Cabs have dropped. Even in summer, there's so many about that the price doesn't really pick up.

Seems there's a few more straight cabs than straight tin tops.

Good work!!

(Now paint over that chrome wrongness winkeye )

I started looking at cabs in the spring. Lots up for sale for silly money, and most of them were rusty or very tired. Then in mid summer, supply dried up a bit (not counting the ones I had already seen, which were still for sale). Prices fell a bit in the autumn, and plenty to choose from again, but most were still overpriced or scrap.

Having seen dozens of cabs, I found an early pre-facelift motorsport for £2300.
