Anyone converted their touring into a van type thing?
Moderator: martauto
Just wondering as I have the idea to do so.
Would be my next project if I could get some inspiration from somewhere.
Just remove the rear seats, black all the windows etc.
Anyone done anything like this?, if so show us some pics.

Why would you do this?
It will look horrible and be a terrible waste of a good car.
Before you say 'For the hell of it' there's a guy I see on my travels who has done a YELLOW E30 PICK-UP TRUCK.
I'm sure he said the same thing - don't be that guy...

Why the hell not mate. We are only talking about a esate car here not the bleedin Elgin Marbles. Its the blokes car to do with as he wants, and if he uses it how is that a waste. Be a boring old world if we all drove the same cars.6-Shooter wrote:Why would you do this?

because its his car and obviously suits his needs and he asked for help in the practicalities of doing so not peoples opinions on what it may or may not look like.6-Shooter wrote:Why would you do this?

I'm sure there was one on ebay recently, had a sheet of metal welded over the rear & door windows, can't remember if the doors were completely welded up. Would really need the "b" pillar moving and doors from a 2 door fitting for the full effect
Yeah at the end of the day lifes too short to not do something to your car because you think it would be a waste of a car, I think it wouldn't be a waste at all. I actually think the opposite, why leave a car just the way it is, as there are 1000's of them rolling about pretty much the same, when you can turn it into something unique and suited to your needs like Max n goonz are saying.

I say go for it matey, that car will look sweet! But look into the 2 door option, i reckon the bigger front doors will give it the extra look twice factor
