sony stereo wiring

right as the wires in my 316i were cut ive been wiring in my stereo ive got everything sorted apart from one wire the one that turns stereo on with ignition ive got a red/black wire running into it but its not doing the job any ideas

can anyone help its draining my battery having power to stereo at all times

Hi I think you are meant to have a permanent live to the radio to keep the stations in the memory.I would be looking for something else draining your battery.

i have that one but theres also one that turns the radion on/off with ignition i cant find that wire so i have got it on the permenant wire so its turned on
