To pick one of these up even a dog would set you back at least 10k TBH

That red/black one is a pre 71 model Tii converted to twin webers from the original Kugelfisacher mechanical injection system. To buy a nice turbo will set you back around 15 to 25 grand, as has already been said.
Jaymic workshops sold an unfinished 2002 turbo project car that the owner had partly restored and assembled in March this year. It went for 7 grand. I was suitably gutted that I missed the end of the auction; even though it would have cost large £Â£Ã‚£'s to finish it off, it would still have been a way of getting the right car.
The fastest appreciating 2002 model, and the most sought after is the pre '71 tii model (round rear lights). Jaymic, again, restored a number of them in the mid '90s and one recently sold on ebay for £12k. Speaking to Fay Macartney at the stoneleigh show last month I was told that they cost in the region of 25 to 35 grand to restore.
Saying that, you could pick up a reasonable tii for 3 to 5 grand.
