Oh dear. Seen them on e21's before but never e30's. Yuck. Some things are too retro.

i have seen nasty extensions with a cut out for the plate over here, but horrible, and as said on this where would you put the plate, cannot see how they can be american as by their law (in some if not all states)there is no requireement for a front plate, but rear is a must thats why they cannot reverse into parking places, the police cannot see the licence (license  ) plate number, and probably why most yanks shudder at the thought of parallel parking winkeye

I remember these! :o:
The number plate goes under the bumper.
I didn't like them back in the day and my opinion hasn't changed. You could get them for all sorts of late '70's/early '80's cars, usually the ones with the number plate between the lights.

I was toying with the idea of painting the panel to match the car and smoothing the recess thats just underneathand then a set of smoked lights.Gave the idea up when it came to chopping the back bumper up to make a recess for a smaller number plate to sit in.Heres what it looked like fitted.

Might have looked o.k maybe someone can photoshop it.

I don't think that looks too bad as it goes, I think it's because of the pre-facelift reverse lights breaking up the redness

What wheels are they? and did you put that m3 kit on it yourself?

The wheels are keskin kt1's from shaz, the extension plate thats fitted is slightly diffrent from the one in the original post. This one has the centre line which the pre facelift lights have,it follows onto the extension for about an inch either side then blends out and yes the kit was fitted 70% by myself.

I could be wrong but I think they were called 'Tail-blazers' back in the day.

Some cars they looked half decent on, others looked like you'd just stuck coloured stickers to your car.
