Thanks, man!

Negative on The Cat Empire, I'm afraid...though somehow it does ring a bell. A mate of mine might have mentioned them. I'll ask. Hopefully he'll say that they kick arse and at least someone can say "Yes!" to knowing of them.

I see you've got the "new black" yourself. Excellent!

Updates will be ongoing, man....I'm doing this one as "rolling project", so to speak, so a lot of things will end up getting done to it. Actually, I'm now wondering whether I should keep going! My project timeline allowed for 2 years to get most of the important stuff done and by God the costs add up! I really should decide if I stick with the E30 or go to an E36 M3.

I really like the E30s, though. :)

LOL!

No change.

Just crud and that got seen to by a vacuum cleaner quick smart. :)

The guy installing the seat reported a recent horror, though ~ on a 4X4. Under the OEM seat he removed he discovered pies! In various stages of decomposition. Makes you wonder, doesn't it? :)

Just found this thread, car looks great you're doing alot of work to it. What 7 series is the master cylinder from and is it a straight swap? I'm in the process of building a 4 door 320i for the track. :)

Hey. Crazy!

The 7 series you're looking at is the E32 and on ABS equipped cars it is a straight swap. On non-ABS cars you'll need a T-piece made up as the E30 master cylinders have 2 outputs for the front wheels and the E32 has a single output - but pedal feel is worth the engineering.

Here's a page with the theory behind the swap:

http://www.e30m3performance.com/install ... c/25mc.htm

Have a read and see what you think.

As mentioned above I had a Supersprint catback exhaust on order. It's a Supersprint Corsa with 76mm tips.

I had it fitted today.

The previous owner of the car had a total nightmare of a "fix" fitted and it really did have to go (I added pics of it for a laugh).

Here's some pics....

The original tips:

The mess that came off:

Lovely!

Bloody wonderful!

Easy to fit. No drone. Not too loud, so you can potter around and it doesn't sound like a "look at me!" type of thing...but plant the foot and it really opens up and sounds the business.

Very happy with it.,

And once I get a few miles on the car it should settle and find its "voice".

Quality is first rate. Worth every penny.

Hey, RRRR!

Spikuzi is pretty much on the money when he talks about a lack of dedicated BMW places to hit whilst you're in town.

If I am honest, we Australian guys are quite jealous of you lot and the parts availability that you have. Most of the stuff we get is sourced from America or England ~ a few guys buy direct form Germany (and wider Europe). There really are no "bargain bin" prices out here for parts.

Unfortunately you've even missed the BMWCC of Victoria's Show and Shine and the last round of the E30 racing series. Sorry to be the bearer of such crappy news. :(

Thanks, Jay! Yep, I'm enjoying it (except for the wads of cash leaving my wallet :) ). There'll be more to come next year, too. And we'll see how it goes on a track day or two.

Should be interesting.

yep thats true, lots of the parts i get for my car from usa and europe, even the bmw dealer dont carry much of spare parts for the bmw, only the major and quick selling parts.
i even work in a bmw spare parts company and i find it very hard.
alpineade where u getting the parts from ??? did u try carshine in tullamarine ?? or is this where u get the parts from ??

Funny you should mention Carshine, spikuzi. I only just discovered them. I had a hell of a time getting an exhaust locally. Carshine is where I grabbed my Supersprint from.

Good guys to deal with.

BMSpares in Dandenong is another place. But some parts are impossible now. An example: I want some clean bumper inserts...nothing around second hand now, nothing mint at any rate...so new OEM for me! My mechanic carries some spares, too. Not too many but I been lucky a couple of times.

I suspect I'll be sourcing more and more stuff from overseas as time passes and I do more to the car.

ya i know one of the guys from carshine, i was talking with him last week, they buy some parts from where i work. and ya funny coz i asked him about the supersprint for the e30, very very expensive but good quality, i have remus on my e30 and it sounds great too.

anyway if u want parts for ur e30 & have time, come to my work, i will show u around and u can see my half stiped e30 sitting in the garage at work waiting for the m50

Thanks, man!

I talked with Craig a fair bit from Carshine. Good bloke. I'd definitely order more stuff through them. I'm hoping they might be able to source a hi-flow cat for me at some stage.....

I read your your M50 thread. Awesome! That'll be a real beast when it's all up and running.

Which side of the city are you on? I'm in the South-East.
