Well. Was a good day (I suppose)
For some reason there was no lap times though.
The unfortunate part of the day came when I got a nice bit of open track and was on a flyer! until the engine decided it wanted to part with its mounts and try and leave the car through the radiator
The car returned to Southampton on the back of an AA wagon ready to be fixed today.

I will be installing new engine mounts today and then back on the road. I also had to get the car recovered back to Southampton (not cheap!!!) on tha back of a low loader. Not entirely sure if they were the AA but was arranged through them on the phone.
If you want slightly upraited engine mounts, buuy the Escort RS2000 ones from www.raldes.co.uk . They are a direct swap and when you get them from Rally Design, they are slightly tougher rubber too. It's what I use on the racer and they are standing up to a LOT of beating!!

Am running the standard rubber mounts. At the risk of sounding a little on the simple side... I didn't know changing to solid mounts was an option. Does the engine not need the rubber mounts then? It's mainly used as a road car, doesnt see the track very often. Altough it doesn't get a simathetic life on the road either.
Am looking at making a 3.5 version for the track. Would you recomend I use solid mounts for both?

I think solid mounts are for race/track cars and won't be much fun on a street car ?
