Been working for months now on a 16v turbo engine for my mate's 205 (link below) and got around to starting the manifold this weekend.
Must admit I was surprised at how quickly it all went together so it hopefully bodes well for the real thing (i.e. making MY manifolds )

Looks good.
But, which way round will it fit in the engine bay?? No matter how I look at it, I just cant figure it out.
What diameter pipe are you using? And whats the wall thickness? I need to get hold of some for my brother, but not sure what to go for. It is for an exhaust manifold.

It's a FWD transverse engine with the exhaust side pointing to the back of the car so the manifold kinda runs from cyl over on the drivers side to cyl 4 on the passengers with the turbo hanging above the gearbox.
It was more of an exercise in packaging than good manifold design but hopefully it'll be better than a log-style design.
Can't recall the pipe diameter (have a feeling it was 38mm) but I'm reasonably sure it's 16swg which is about 1.6mm wall thickness.
I'll try and dig out the link to the place we got the pipe if you need?

I knew its FWD etc etc but from looking at the pic, I just couldnt get where the turbo was going to go. I was trying to remember my mates 205gti, but couldnt think of any space for it.
It should be some project when its done. I assume your custom building it rather than buying an 'off the shelf' kit?

Yeah, everything's custom made for the conversion (well inlet and exhaust bits anyway) Other than that it's just an Mi16 engine with low pressure turbo conversion and an Emerald to control it all plus some throttle bodies and all the other bits I love making

This sounds like an interesting little project, how are you gonna fit that in the little engine bay. From what i know isn't there clearance issues already present with an mi16 in a 205. The exhaust manifold hits the bulkhead doesn't it? You can tilt them but then they die of oil starvation so i here. That will be rapid as 205 valvers are already quick and a very good track weapon. The standard manifold only clashes with the bulkhead lower down nearer the sump, at the top there's thankfully a little more clearance
We were going to try fitting the turbo behind the head but there really wasn't room for that so the next closest place seemed to be over the gearbox. I'm not too happy about it as I wanted to keep the runners as short as possible, but the tiny envelope into which it would fit made my mind up for me
