when idleing warm it is quite unsettled and sounds like it is goin to stall but if i push the accelerator to make rpm 1000 it runs fine

any help would be much appreciated

Check your air hose for splits and tears.

i had the same problem, after speaking to a bmw expert he told me to adjust the airflow meter, i did so and all is good now.

Air meter bypass should never need adjusting. If you adjust it and it improves things, then you are just masking another fault.

thats nice to know shame they didnt tell me that! looks like i need to find a new airflow meter. :x

In the real world, adjust it, and don't worry about it.
Needs to be set up on a CO meter, though.
