Right I have found 2 amps to choose from so if I can get some feeback on them and a hand in choosing the right one.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JBL-GTO-75-4-4-ch ... dZViewItem

http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/produc ... /5415.html

This is the sub I am thinking of getting,

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JBL-GTO1260BR-12- ... dZViewItem

I already have JVC speakers in the rear and pioneer in the front and a JVC head unit,
will all this equipment be suitable and work well with each other? (correct wattage etc) and which amp is best?

My advice is to by a decent second hand amp if £80-£90 is your budget. Those two you said are rubbish mate.

bargain here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/kenwood-640watt-p ... dZViewItem

or a new one for you http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KENWOOD-KAC-8403- ... dZViewItem

The sub is ok, just buy a decent amp and headunit, cheap speakers are fine if they are powered by good amps. I had four of these subs before and you wouldn't beleive how good they sounded, but I also had a £700 900wrms amp to power them.

The JBL amp power is rated at 14.4volts and as far as I can tell the kenwood is at 12.6volts, if it was rated at 14.4 it wouldn't be far off the power the JBL has, maybe a 40w difference which is sod all. The JBL subs don't like to be over driven anyway so the kenwood amp will be fine, at a later date you can use the other two channels for another JBL sub if you need more bass.

Also remeber that good amps have more control over speakers for any given power like in this case and don't try to inflate their power figures either.

You'll need to buy the leads seperate.

Go for it if you like it, but it looks like a sealed box, a ported box like the jbl below will be louder http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/produc ... /5481.html

Bridging is using two channels as one to triple the output so 50wrms usually gives 150wrms bridged. Look in the manual for further info.

Will the amp and sub come with wires/leads etc to install or are they separate?

And is bridging easy?

So what should I bridge? the 6x9s into one? or sub into 2 channels?

Cheers for your help btw.

Will the amp and sub come with wires/leads etc to install or are they separate? You bought the amp you should know. I don't know where you bought it from, new or second hand, it should have been something you asked when buying. It's no issue if it don't come with wires anyway just buy some seperate.

And is bridging easy?Bridging is easy. It's pimping that isn't easy :D

So what should I bridge? the 6x9s into one? or sub into 2 channels?6x9's are crap....... sell'em. Use one channel each on the front speakers and two channels bridged for the sub. Read the manual for the correct way to bridge your amp because they do vary slightly.

To be honest il probably keep the 6x9's as they have been cut out in the parcel shelf already.

So shall I bridge the front speakers with the rear ones, and the sub on the other 2.?

Also I have some tweeters how would they fit in?

WRONG WRONG, bridging an amp gives the combined output of both the channels being bridged, so an amp rated at 50 watts rms x 2 will be 100 watts rms x1. unless you are refering to the load rating at 2 ohms ( in which case the rated power will be more)

i would not advise bridging a four channel amp to run 4 speakers and a sub. u need a dedicated sub amp for that and a four channel amp used unbridged to run the speakers. the tweeters will run from the same connections as the front speakers

not from the one amplifier no. you could run the front speakers from one pair of channels and the sub run from the other pair of channels bridged. then run the 6x9's from the headunit.

If I was to buy this component speaker kit

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JBL-GTO-506c-13cm ... dZViewItem

Would the mids tweeters and crossovers go on 2 channels bridged?

And then the sub bridged on the other 2,

and the rear speakers off the head unit.

bridging the amp will give the amplifiers 2ohm rating added together, so a 2x50wrms@4ohms amplifier should give 2x75wrms@2ohms then it will give 150wrms@4ohms bridged.

don't bridge the front outputs, just the one for the sub. Front and rear speakers need a seperate left and right signal (stereo), a sub needs a combined signal (mono).

Do you reckon I should get a component speaker kit?

Will my amp be able to handle everything? (that the components, rear 6x9 and sub?)

Or other wise just stick to 2x 6x9s and the sub?

You really want to ditch the rear speakers, it will totally ruin the overall sound and drag the soundstage back and make it sound muddled.

Use the amp to drive the front speakers and then bridge channels 3/4 to run the sub.

If you insist on keeping the rear speakers in there run them off the head unit for a bit of rear fill, but I would take the speakers out and leave the grilles in place to let the bass come though from the boot.

Why buy a nice amp and a sub and then not use it properly??

This amp needs nice speakers up front and nothing at the back.
Buy some rainbow components for up front.

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products ... eries_id=7

claimed RMS is 400w !! haha

its actual RMS power will be around 280 watts.

get something like this
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1600-WATT-MOSFET- ... 0170177159

mofset, 1600w and also better RMS values. (better clarity at higher volume)

better brand does not always mean better sound.

max power did a sound test ages ago using cheap jap amps and their overall review was that they were as good as equivelent big brands.
