side trims/ rub strips.

can the side trims on the doors be removed, shaved back so there not all trianglar and sticking out, painted and then stuck back on?

ive been thinking abut this one myself all week and i was thinking of making some flat trims out of plastic colour coding them and sticking them on, there was a picture on e36coupe.com of an e36 with a similar part i will see if i can find it

The side trims are basically shaped like that...ie hollow on the inside!

suppose it is possible.

Another way is just to remove the strips, get the holes welded and smoothed and just paint the lot, so no strips at all

hence my idea of stickin a bit of colour coded plastic on them (ghetto style)

big job to cut the plastic strips down or big job to remove them and have the doors ect smoothed.

would be nice to get rid of them entirely but im after a oem look. and dont want to do anything that will permenantly change the car. might have to look into making some plasic ones like that e36, looks good on that.
