what does it mean if there is white stuff around or in the oil filler cap??
what do i do to fix it?
what is it going to cost me...really??

i think its water getting into your oil mate
could be head gasket i think
no ideas of cost
i could be wrong though

But..before you jump the gun..does the car get used often?? It could just be condensation. Is there oil in the water?? Are you losing water? Excessive steam from the exhaust? Overheating problems?

Have you checked the dipstick.When the head on my cab finally got bad there was signs off the white stuff around the dipstick. Also take out the sensor in the header tank and check your water. As for cost i had new head or recon Ԛ£450 then you have new gasket ,bolts and refit. my total bill came to Ԛ£875 and he did rear bushes which are a crap job . good luck .

With my experience it could be 3 things, Head Gasket gone, Cracked Head (which the m20 heads are susceptible to) or Cracked Block (this is rare though). I would seek other advise first though, but the only way to really find out it pull the head off and investigate. :cry:
