Hi guys I would like to know how to increase from a 1800cc to 2000cc on a M10 motor I know that 2002 parts can be used but we never got the 2002 in SA.
What other parts can be used and what to I need is it just the conrods or is it crank, conrod, piston combination.

Would M30 conrods increase the displacement or just the compression ratio

OK, I've done a bit digging for you.
M10B18 = 89mm bore/71mm stroke
M10B20 = 89mm bore/80mm stroke
What you'll need is M10B20 crankshaft and pistons. The rods are identical.
Don't know about RSA, but in Europe the M10B20 was used in 4-cyl. E21 320's (but, IIRC, not 320i's).

Sorry, duff info.StuBeeDoo wrote:in Europe the M10B20 was used in 4-cyl. E21 320's (but, IIRC, not 320i's).
Up here, all 320's and 320i's were M10 until 08/78 when 320i was discontinued. M20B20 was introduced in carb version as "320/6" in 06/77, but ran in tandem with M10B20 carb. "320" until M10B20 carb engine discontinued in 07/79.
Clear as muddy water?? Yup, same here!
